Jakuan Jimmius Canteen, an 18-year-old from Hemingway, has been arrested and charged with armed robbery and related offenses after a violent incident on January 31, 2025. According to the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office, Canteen and at least one accomplice approached a victim sitting in his vehicle, brandishing a firearm and striking him before stealing personal items and kidnapping him to a separate location.
The arrest followed an ongoing investigation, culminating in Canteen’s detention by law enforcement on February 26. He now faces serious charges including Armed Robbery with a Deadly Weapon and Grand Larceny, highlighting the escalating concerns around violent crime in local communities. The investigation continues, and authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
