Pickerington police have identified a 23-year-old Columbus man, Kamal Walters, as the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred early Friday morning. Police report that 19-year-old Samuel Stallworth, the suspected shooter, is in custody and faces potential murder charges following the incident, which took place at a residence on Montmorency Drive.
Authorities received a 911 call shortly before 4 a.m. from a woman reporting the shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Walters suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. A subsequent traffic stop led to Stallworth’s arrest, along with the recovery of two firearms from his vehicle. Police revealed that a dispute unfolded in the home involving Stallworth, Walters, and two other individuals who were not harmed during the incident.
