SAF Urges SCOTUS to Hear Minnesota Carry Case

The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) has filed a response brief with the U.S. Supreme Court regarding a case challenging Minnesota’s prohibition on licensed concealed carry for young adults aged 18 to 20. This filing supports Minnesota’s appeal for a review of the case, Jacobson v. Worth, asserting that current national court decisions are inconsistent regarding the Second Amendment rights of this age group.

SAF argues that denying these young adults their right to carry firearms for self-defense violates their constitutional rights. The organization’s executive director, Adam Kraut, emphasizes the absence of historical evidence supporting such age restrictions, noting that federal courts have increasingly recognized the rights of young adults under the Second Amendment. The outcome of this case could set a precedent for gun rights nationwide.
