Fort Lauderdale police have arrested 20-year-old Tyler Hollins, charging him with first-degree murder in connection with the tragic shooting death of three-year-old Rylo Yancy. The young boy was killed by a stray bullet during a shooting incident at a children’s birthday party on July 21, 2024. Police state that evidence from forensic analysis, testimonies from witnesses, and cellphone data directly link Hollins to the shooting, which stemmed from an ongoing dispute between two groups.
Rylo’s family is seeking justice and expressing their heartbreak over the senseless violence. His aunt, Nena, emphasized the devastation the tragedy has caused, stating, “This was the worst death of my life, we will never be the same.” Authorities have identified additional suspects in the shooting and are actively pursuing leads to bring them to justice, offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that may aid in the investigation.
