Michigan’s Spring Turkey Season Begins April 19, 2025

The Michigan spring turkey hunting season is set to open on April 19, 2025, providing hunters with the chance to harvest up to 30,000 turkeys during the period that runs until June 7. With a turkey population estimated at 200,000, hunters are allowed to take one bearded turkey per license, as defined by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

To participate, hunters must be selected via a random drawing for a spring turkey license, which is now open for those who applied. Additionally, a special statewide Hunt 0234 license will allow hunters to hunt in designated areas without participating in the drawing. With various mentoring programs available for young and disabled hunters, this season presents an inclusive opportunity for the community to engage in the sport of turkey hunting.
