Gulfport Police Arrest 19-Year-Old for Armed Robbery

A 19-year-old man, Zyiquarius Brown, has been arrested in Gulfport on charges of armed robbery following an incident on March 9th. Officers with the Gulfport Police Department responded to a reported robbery in the 9400 block of Highway 49, where Brown allegedly brandished a firearm and forcibly took a victim’s purse before fleeing the scene.

After an investigation and collaboration with Jackson County CID, Brown was apprehended without incident. During questioning at the Gulfport Police Department, he confessed to the robbery and is currently held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center with a bond set at $250,000. This case highlights ongoing concerns regarding youth involvement in violent crimes in the area.
