An Erie man, Kyteem L. Pullium, has been indicted on drug and firearm charges after a federal investigation led to the seizure of multiple guns, including an untraceable ghost gun, during a search of his home. At only 22, Pullium faces serious allegations of trafficking fentanyl and illegally possessing firearms while being a convicted felon, all of which could result in significant federal prison time.
The case highlights the alarming increase in the use of ghost guns, which are often constructed from DIY kits and lack serial numbers, thus eluding law enforcement tracking efforts. In 2022 alone, law enforcement recovered over 25,000 suspected ghost guns, a dramatic rise from just a few years prior. Pullium remains in custody as the U.S. Attorney’s Office seeks to ensure he is detained before trial, while the Supreme Court considers challenges to federal regulations aimed at controlling these untraceable weapons.
