Richmond Students Tackle Gun Violence with T-Shirt Challenge

Richmond Public Schools is launching a t-shirt design challenge aimed at combating gun violence in the city, inviting all 4th and 5th graders to participate. The initiative, titled “I Choose Life — Stop Gun Violence in RVA!”, is developed in collaboration with the City of Richmond Department of Justice Services and encourages students to create artistic designs that convey a powerful message against gun violence.

The deadline for students to submit their designs to teachers is March 31, just ahead of a holiday for RPS, making prompt participation advised. Winning shirt designs will be showcased on black t-shirts and revealed in May 2025, providing students a platform to creatively express their stance on an important social issue affecting their community.
