Officer Fires at Restaurant Owner in Mistaken Identity Incident

Newly released police bodycam footage from Fort Worth captures the tense moment when an officer fires at a man holding a gun, initially believed to be a burglary suspect. However, it turns out the individual was the owner of Taqueria Ruby, who was responding to a commercial alarm in the early hours of March 12.

When officers arrived at the restaurant, they encountered the owner with his firearm, prompting commands to drop the weapon. The officer, fearing for their safety, discharged their firearm, but the owner was not struck. Authorities later confirmed that a break-in had occurred at the restaurant, while the officer involved has been placed on administrative leave during the ongoing investigation.
