Off-duty Boston Officer Apprehends Teen with Ghost Gun

An off-duty Boston police officer successfully apprehends a 15-year-old male suspect after gunshots ring out in Roxbury on Wednesday afternoon. The officer, who was on his way home from work, responded to the scene where he noticed a suspect brandishing a weapon before fleeing, leading to a foot pursuit that ended with the recovery of a loaded “ghost gun.”

During the incident, the officer found the firearm containing one round in the chamber and six additional rounds in the magazine. The young suspect now faces serious charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm and reckless discharge, and is scheduled for arraignment in Boston Juvenile Court. This incident underscores ongoing concerns about the prevalence of ghost guns in urban areas.
