Woman Shot While Sitting at Lexington Park Picnic Table

A 19-year-old woman was shot while sitting at a picnic table in Finch Park, Lexington, shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday. Police received a 911 call about the incident, and upon arrival, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the back, prompting her immediate transportation to a local hospital. Fortunately, her injuries are classified as non-life-threatening and she has since been released.

In response to the shooting, law enforcement closed off the area and established a search for both suspects and evidence. At this time, police have not identified a suspect nor any witnesses to the shooting. The incident remains under investigation, and authorities are encouraging anyone with information to contact Lexington Area Crimestoppers at 336-243-2400.
