Kansas Wildlife Officials to Discuss Duck Zone Changes

Kansas wildlife officials prepare to meet in Topeka on March 27 to discuss potential changes to the state’s duck zones, which are reviewed only once every five years. The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) will evaluate the 2026-2027 waterfowl season date, bag limits, and the possibility of modifying established duck zones that have been in place since 2020.

The meeting will also cover additional topics such as coyote night vision hunting regulations and the status of threatened species within the state. If changes to the duck zones are deemed necessary, they could set the stage for new hunting guidelines later this summer, impacting both resident and nonresident waterfowl hunters alike.
