Aurora police shot and injured a man during an incident early Monday morning. Officers responded to a reported suspicious activity around 3:15 a.m. near S. Elkhart Way and E. Mississippi Avenue, leading to the exchange of gunfire. Fortunately, no officers were injured, and the man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation, with the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office Critical Incident Response Team taking the lead. Aurora police have not disclosed details about what prompted the officers to use force, but a public information officer is on the scene to provide updates as they emerge.
