Gold Beach Market Hit by Armed Robbery

A 26-year-old man from Gold Beach is now in custody following an armed robbery at the Gold Beach Market on Saturday night. Elias Hathaway reportedly entered the store with a rifle, prompting a swift response from the Gold Beach Police Department, who were alerted by a citizen just after 10:30 p.m.

After gathering video surveillance footage and witness statements, officers received word that Hathaway had turned himself in at the Curry County Sheriff’s Office. He now faces menacing and robbery charges, and the case has been forwarded to the Curry County District Attorney’s Office for further action.
