Three D.C. Men Indicted on Federal Gun Charges

Three men from Washington, D.C., have been indicted on federal gun charges as part of efforts to combat violent crime linked to firearms violations. U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin Jr. announced the indictments following a traffic stop on March 16, where police discovered loaded weapons in their vehicle, underscoring concerns about illegal firearms in the capital. The men, Wesley Hilliard, Sequan Collier, and Naseer Green, all have criminal histories that prohibit them from legally carrying guns, adding a layer of complexity to the case.

During the stop, officers found open alcohol containers and detected the presence of firearms, leading to further investigation. Notably, Green was in possession of a modified weapon that was reported stolen. The “Make D.C. Safe Again” initiative aims to address the persistent issues of gun violence in the city, and this case highlights the ongoing collaboration between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and local police to keep dangerous firearms off the streets.
