Toms River Man Receives 12.5-Year Sentence for Drug Case

A Toms River man, Masta Redding, is sentenced to 12 and a half years in federal prison following a raid that uncovered a bag of cocaine hidden in his coffee maker, along with a loaded gun. The 38-year-old pleaded guilty to charges of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, after being observed making multiple cocaine sales in the area.

During the March 2020 raid, law enforcement found not only the cocaine and a loaded .380 caliber pistol but also over $4,000 in cash. Redding’s efforts to evade responsibility included attempting to have another individual falsely claim ownership of the seized items. In addition to his prison sentence, he faces three years of supervised release and is required to forfeit the gun and ammunition.
