Danville Police Arrest Two for Firearms and Cannabis Possession

Danville police recently arrested two young individuals following a traffic stop that uncovered illegal firearms and over 100 grams of cannabis. The incident took place on March 29, when officers observed a vehicle with equipment and seatbelt violations in the 500 block of Clarence Street, leading to a more thorough investigation with a police K9 unit.

Identified as 20-year-olds Amiyah N Helton and Keshawn J Cotton, both suspects face multiple charges, including aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Police discovered one firearm on Cotton and located another during the search, highlighting concerns about gun violence and drug possession in the area. The investigation is ongoing as authorities encourage anyone with information to come forward.
