New Lawsuits Against Sig Sauer Over P320 Handgun

Twenty-two gun owners, including law enforcement officers and military veterans, have filed civil lawsuits against Sig Sauer, alleging that the company’s popular P320 pistol fired unintentionally, resulting in serious injuries. These recent complaints join a growing number of lawsuits claiming design flaws and unintentional discharges, with some plaintiffs asserting their P320s fired “suddenly and unexpectedly,” even when not being handled.

Sig Sauer has dismissed these claims as baseless, asserting that the P320 is designed to fire only when the trigger is intentionally pulled. The tension surrounding these lawsuits is heightened by previous jury verdicts awarding substantial damages to injured gun owners, coupled with the military’s acknowledgment of similar unintentional discharges involving the gun. This latest round of litigation underscores ongoing concerns about the safety of one of the most widely used firearms in the United States.
