This year’s South Zone turkey season runs from April 19 to May 18, while the Northeastern Zone begins on May 3. Hunters can only bag one bearded bird throughout the spring, reflecting conservation efforts amid fluctuating turkey populations. Notably, over 90% of turkeys harvested last year were taken on private land, prompting questions about access and hunting dynamics across the state.
