A gas station clerk in Macclenny, Florida, is in critical condition following a shooting during an armed robbery that occurred on Tuesday night. The incident took place at the Royalty Gas station, where two suspects attempted to steal alcoholic beverages, leading to a violent altercation with the store clerk.
The confrontation escalated when one of the suspects produced a handgun and shot the clerk, who was quickly flown to UF Health Jacksonville for emergency treatment. Law enforcement pursued the suspects, who fled the scene, resulting in a vehicle chase that ended with a crash using stop sticks on US-90. Both suspects, one adult and one juvenile, are now in custody, and authorities report that there are no additional threats to the community.
