Jai’Shawn Morgan, an 18-year-old from Kansas City, has been charged with attempted robbery after a bizarre turn of events during the crime. According to police reports, Morgan allegedly demanded a woman’s phone and money at gunpoint, but his partner interrupted, insisting he was taking too long, leading to a hasty retreat in a stolen vehicle.
After a police chase that exceeded speeds of 90 mph, Morgan crashed the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. He was ultimately apprehended and, upon reviewing surveillance footage, confessed to his involvement in the crime. Charged with attempted robbery, armed criminal action, and harassment, he faces up to 34 years in prison if convicted, while currently being held on a $50,000 bond.
