During a press conference, students highlighted the requirement for all school doors to be locked and for faculty to receive active shooter training, arguing that no classroom should offer less protection than standard safety protocols. As lawmakers face increasing pressure to enact effective reforms, the time is pressing with less than two weeks left in the session to address a range of proposed gun safety bills that have yet to be considered this year.
