US Military Conducts Historic Nuclear Training in Korea

The United States military has conducted its first-ever ‘Nuclear Weapon Effects’ training program in South Korea, aiming to equip South Korean troops with vital knowledge about the impacts of nuclear weapons. This initiative is particularly significant in light of escalating tensions in the region, especially due to North Korea’s advancing nuclear capabilities, as it strengthens defensive collaboration between the two nations.

During the training at a South Korean military base, American experts detailed how nuclear weapons cause destruction through heat, blast pressure, and radiation, using videos and maps for better understanding. The program not only focused on the immediate effects of a nuclear event but also emphasized the importance of emergency response, including how to assist injured individuals and manage radioactive decontamination efforts. South Korean military leaders expressed gratitude for this critical knowledge transfer, highlighting the program’s potential to save lives in a nuclear emergency.
