Mississippi Man Guilty of Machine Gun Possession

James Harris, a 33-year-old Mississippi resident, pleads guilty to possessing machine guns and now faces sentencing on August 13, 2025. The charges stem from an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), which linked him to illegal firearm sales to undercover agents in New Orleans between September and November 2023.

This case is part of the broader Operation Take Back America initiative aimed at combating illegal arms trafficking and related violence. If sentenced to the maximum penalty, Harris could spend up to ten years in prison, incur fines of up to $250,000, and face additional supervised release requirements, highlighting the serious repercussions of firearm offenses under federal law.
