Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Local Gas Station

The Dougherty County Police Department is actively investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Pitt Stop gas station on Sylvester Highway around 3:30 p.m. The incident unfolded when a suspect, armed with a knife, entered the gas station and demanded money from the register. Surveillance footage captured the suspect wearing a red hat, red shirt, dark pants, and slide sandals, prompting police to seek the public’s assistance in identifying them.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported during the robbery, and investigators have not disclosed the amount of cash taken. The DCPD encourages anyone with additional information to contact them, highlighting the ongoing nature of the investigation as they aim to bring the suspect to justice. The Pitt Stop is located at 3225 Sylvester Highway in Dougherty County.
