Oakdale police apprehend a robbery suspect during a routine traffic stop on Wednesday morning. The driver, who was pulled over near Fairfax Drive for a vehicle violation, was found to have a fake ID and over $12,000 in cash, alongside methamphetamine and stolen checks, leading investigators to connect him to a recent armed robbery case in Stockton.
As police conducted a vehicle search, they discovered items that allegedly belonged to the victim of the Stockton robbery. After notifying Stockton authorities, it was confirmed that the driver is a suspect in the case. He faces multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance and identity theft, and has been booked into Stanislaus County Jail.
