Illinois Man Gets 16 Years for Wisconsin Robberies

Jamal White, a 34-year-old man from Illinois, has been sentenced to 16 years in federal prison for a spree of armed robberies that took place in southeastern Wisconsin over three days in May 2023. Targeting various commercial businesses such as gas stations and a Walgreens, White brandished a firearm during the robberies, which were executed with alarming rapidity and planning.

His criminal history includes a prior six-year sentence for armed robbery, and at the time of these incidents, White was on parole. The U.S. Attorney’s Office highlighted not only the five robberies he was charged with but also two additional hold-ups in Illinois, painting a troubling picture of a repeat offender. With supervised release and restitution ordered alongside his prison term, the coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies were crucial in bringing White to justice.
