Norfolk Man Gets 8 Years for Drug and Gun Charges

A 37-year-old Norfolk man, Donte Rodrick Mondy, is sentenced to eight years and one month in federal prison after being convicted on drug and firearms charges. Authorities conducted four controlled purchases from Mondy, during which he sold various combinations of fentanyl, xylazine, and cocaine, along with firearms.

In a coordinated effort involving the Chesapeake Police Department and federal agencies, investigators recovered a loaded handgun and over 81 capsules containing illicit drugs from Mondy’s possession. This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a federal initiative aimed at reducing violent crime, reflecting local efforts to combat the growing issues of drug trafficking and illegal firearms.
