Deputies in Victor, New York, have arrested Elijah A. Bonvell, 43, after uncovering a loaded ghost gun in his residence during a collaborative investigation with state police. The search stems from a previous incident where firearms were removed from Bonvell’s home under an Extreme Risk Protection Order. Days later, authorities discovered this unmarked semi-automatic 9mm weapon, which was found to exceed New York’s ten-round ammunition capacity limit.
In addition to the ghost gun, law enforcement recovered several other illegal weapons including metal knuckles and an expandable baton. Bonvell later surrendered to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and is currently held at the county jail, awaiting arraignment. With additional charges expected, this case underscores the ongoing concerns surrounding illegal firearms in the region.
