Maryland Man Gets 50 Years for I-95 Road Rage Shooting

A Howard County judge sentences Quwan Lamar Gordon, 48, to 50 years in prison for a road rage shooting on Interstate 95 that took place in August 2024. Convicted of attempted second-degree murder and multiple firearms offenses, Gordon fired at another motorist due to dissatisfaction with his driving, although the occupants were fortunately not injured—two bullets struck their vehicle during the altercation.

The case highlights serious implications for public safety, as Gordon was restricted from firearm ownership due to prior felony convictions. Maryland State Police utilized evidence, including a photo from a truck driver witness, to link him to the crime, leading to the discovery of illegal firearms and narcotics at his home. State’s Attorney Rich Gibson emphasized that this sentencing serves as a firm warning against gun violence on roadways.
