The incident, which unfolded on November 29, was captured on video showing Elting engaged in a violent altercation with a rival group, prompting prosecutors to charge him with multiple felonies, including first-degree robbery.
Elting, allegedly part of the Mak Balla Family gang, faces a staggering 168-count indictment that includes accusations related to 38 separate criminal events, such as shootings and armed robberies. The alarming episode highlights the ongoing gang violence in the area, with authorities recovering a total of 22 illegal firearms throughout their investigation, which has lasted four years. Elting’s bail has been set at either $40,000 cash or a bond of up to $4 million.
