Governor Signs Laws Supporting Firearm Industry in WV

West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey has signed three new laws aimed at bolstering protections for the firearm industry and safeguarding Second Amendment rights. The legislation passed with overwhelming bipartisan support in the state legislature, reflecting strong statewide backing for lawful firearm commerce.

The newly enacted laws include the Firearms Liability Clarification Act, which limits liability for firearm manufacturers, and the Firearms Industry Nondiscrimination Act, prohibiting state-contracted banks from discriminating against firearm-related entities. Morrisey emphasized his commitment to defending West Virginians’ constitutional rights, noting that these laws ensure the continuity of firearm sales and production even during emergencies.
