Man Charged in Armed McDonald’s Robbery in Seneca

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has charged 42-year-old Jason Antonio Busby with armed robbery following a dramatic incident at a McDonald’s in Seneca. According to deputies, Busby entered the restaurant around 4:21 a.m., demanded that employees get on the floor, and indicated he was armed by holding his hand under his jacket, all while threatening to shoot them.

Fortunately, no employees were harmed during the robbery, and investigators quickly identified Busby as a suspect. He was apprehended by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office and is now held in the Oconee County Detention Center, where a judge has denied him bond. This unsettling episode raises questions about safety in local businesses and the prevalence of violent crime in the area.
