Springfield Police Arrest Trio After Armed Robbery

Springfield police have arrested three men in connection with a violent armed robbery that took place late Wednesday night, resulting in one victim being hospitalized with head injuries. The suspects, identified as 27-year-old Manuel Torres, 45-year-old Denis Rivera, and 30-year-old Jordan Lazu, face multiple felony charges, including firearm-related offenses. Police were alerted to the incident through surveillance footage that captured the suspects attacking the victim with a firearm before stealing a television and fleeing.

During their investigation, police recovered a loaded large capacity firearm that had been improperly stored. Torres was arrested after he was seen discarding the weapon, while Rivera and Lazu were apprehended based on live surveillance observations. The violent nature of the crime and the discovery of the firearm raise significant concerns about public safety in the area. As the investigation continues, details surrounding the suspects’ motivations and additional charges may emerge.
