Castle Shannon Man Faces Life Sentence in Drug Case

A 40-year-old Castle Shannon resident, Vaughn James, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on multiple drug trafficking and firearms violations. The indictment alleges that James was in possession of a range of controlled substances—including fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine—with the intent to distribute them. Given his criminal history of prior drug and firearms offenses, he could face a maximum sentence of 20 years to life imprisonment if convicted.

The case stems from investigations by the Pennsylvania State Police and the FBI, highlighting the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region. Notably, the fines associated with his charges could reach as high as $10.5 million, emphasizing the serious legal ramifications of these alleged activities. As the court proceedings move forward, the specifics of James’s trial date and additional developments are yet to be revealed.
