FPC Welcomes DOJ’s Emphasis on Second Amendment Rights

The Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) applauds a recent proposal from the Department of Justice (DOJ) to potentially prioritize Second Amendment rights within its Civil Rights Division. This initiative, led by Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, aims to formally address and litigate against laws and practices that infringe on the rights to bear arms and free speech, particularly in states with restrictive gun laws.

FPC President Brandon Combs highlights that implementing this proposal could significantly bolster the organization’s ongoing litigation efforts in states like California and New York. He emphasized the importance of providing the DOJ with insights from top Second Amendment litigators to ensure a focused and effective approach to protecting constitutional rights across the nation.
