Beaumont Men Sentenced for Grocery Store Armed Robbery

Two Jefferson County men have received federal prison sentences for their involvement in the armed robbery of a Beaumont grocery store, with the ringleader facing a lengthy 108 months. Jonathon Rechard Hite, 22, brandished an AR-15 style rifle during the April 2024 heist, threatening the store clerk and making off with approximately $1,340 in cash.

Cody Lane Wilson, 28, who served as Hite’s getaway driver, was sentenced to 30 months after admitting his role in the crime. The case, prosecuted under Operation Take Back America, highlights the collaboration between local law enforcement and federal agencies like the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Notably, surveillance footage and a quick response from deputies led to the capture of Hite, who was found hiding with the stolen cash soon after the robbery.
