A 46-year-old man, Levi Ross Jr., is in custody following an armed robbery at the Royal Arcade on US 41 in Fort Myers that left an employee injured. According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Ross entered the establishment masked with a firearm and shot an employee in the hand while demanding cash. The victim was rushed to the hospital but is expected to recover from non-life-threatening injuries.
After the robbery, law enforcement released body camera footage showing Ross fleeing the scene, leading to a chase through a nearby neighborhood. He was eventually apprehended with the use of a taser. Ross faces multiple charges, including armed robbery and aggravated battery, raising concerns about public safety in the area, although authorities consider this incident isolated.
