The incident, which occurred on May 20, 1994, involved Parisian, 34, who was off duty and shopping with his wife when he noticed a robbery in progress at a local supermarket. In a display of remarkable bravery, he assisted shoppers to safety before confronting the armed robber, initiating a struggle that ended in tragedy.
Despite being shot by the assailant, Parisian managed to disarm the attacker and even removed his ski mask, providing critical evidence for law enforcement. At the time of his death, Parisian had been an investigator with the Special Investigations Unit for eight years, leaving a legacy of courage and dedication to public safety. This tribute serves as a reminder of the risks law enforcement officers face, even in off-duty situations.
