Vermont Opens Permit Applications for Antler-less Deer Hunting

The Vermont Fish & Wildlife department has announced the opening of applications for muzzleloader antler-less deer hunting permits starting from May 21, 2025. This proactive measure sets the number of permits for the upcoming fall season, aiming to maintain a balanced and sustainable deer population throughout the state.

Antler-less deer hunting will be permitted statewide during the archery season, with specific muzzleloader seasons scheduled from October 30 to November 2 and December 6 to 14. Approximately 19 Wildlife Management Units will offer these permits, which are designed to stabilize deer populations and reduce numbers in certain areas by July 31. Interested hunters are encouraged to apply to support ecological balance while enjoying the hunting season.
