The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) has released details regarding the shooting incident involving 65-year-old Robert Edward Davis, who died during a domestic call in Coon Rapids. Four officers responded to the situation, and their use of force is under scrutiny, as Davis allegedly threatened another individual with a knife, prompting a lengthy negotiation before officers were compelled to act.
Among the officers named, Timothy Morin discharged his firearm, while Steve Minion and Michael Blair deployed less-lethal launchers. Officer Emily Giese utilized a Taser during the incident. Davis was pronounced dead shortly after the confrontation, despite life-saving measures taken on-site. With all officers wearing body cameras, the footage is currently being reviewed as part of an ongoing investigation that will be forwarded to the Anoka County Attorney’s Office for further examination.
