Zion Man Charged with Armed Robbery at Fast Food Restaurant

Shane L. Lones, 41, has been charged with armed robbery following a swift investigation into an incident at a Beach Park fast food restaurant. The event took place on the evening of May 25, 2025, when Lones allegedly entered the establishment armed with a knife, demanding cash while wearing distinct clothing that included a black hoodie and surgical mask, making his capture possible through Flock camera footage.

Authorities arrested Lones the following day near his home, after detectives used the surveillance images to identify him. A search of his vehicle and apartment revealed the garments he wore during the robbery. The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office is seeking to detain Lones until his trial, with a detention hearing set for Tuesday, indicating the seriousness of the charges against him.
