Four Arrested in Armed Robbery Case

Porterville authorities have arrested four suspects following an armed robbery that occurred late Sunday night in the 1400 Block of North Highland Drive. Miguel Vargas, Matthew Eudave, and Sarah Peyron, all residents of Porterville, along with Arron Johnson Jr. from Fresno, face multiple charges, including armed robbery and conspiracy. The incident escalated when victims reported that three armed suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, and police rapidly coordinated an investigation leading to the arrests.

During the investigation, detectives identified the suspects’ vehicle, tracing it back to Vargas’ residence. A traffic stop later led to the detention of Vargas and another suspect, Johnson, who had outstanding warrants. A significant altercation ensued when officers attempted to apprehend Eudave and Peyron, resulting in Peyron injuring a detective during the struggle. This alarming series of events highlights the swift police response and the potential for violence in robbery cases. Each suspect is currently being held on bail ranging from $15,000 to $35,000.
