Oxnard Man Arrested for Illegal Weapons Cache

Richard Madrid, a 28-year-old resident of Oxnard, has been arrested on multiple firearms charges following a raid by Ventura County law enforcement that revealed a substantial cache of illegal weapons. Among the firearms discovered at his home are a “ghost gun,” an untraceable AR-15 style rifle, and a modified Glock pistol, prompting several serious charges, including possession of an assault weapon and unlawful firearm transfer.

The raid, which took place on May 29, is the culmination of a month-long investigation by the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit, highlighting ongoing concerns about ghost guns that lack serial numbers and are difficult to track. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office emphasizes the importance of community involvement in tackling such issues, announcing a reward for information leading to the arrest of others involved in similar firearms violations.
