Two Arrested in Salem Armed Robbery Linked to Marketplace Sale

Salem police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Monday night at Salem Park Plaza, where two suspects attempted to steal an item during a Facebook Marketplace transaction. The incident took place around 7 p.m. in a busy parking lot near popular locations, such as Wrap City and Barnes & Noble.

The situation escalated as the victim was dragged by the suspects’ vehicle while trying to reclaim the item, though they ultimately weren’t harmed and retained their property. The suspects fled the scene but crashed their car in a ditch before being apprehended by law enforcement. Both suspects are in custody, and police believe they are the only individuals involved in the incident.
