Bedford Hosts Gun Disposal Event with Gift Card Incentives

The Towns of Bedford, Carlisle, Concord, Lincoln, Wayland, and Weston are collaborating with the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office to host a “Gift Cards for Guns” event on June 12, providing residents a safe and secure way to dispose of unwanted firearms. Participants can receive gift cards valued up to $300 based on the number of firearms surrendered, a move aimed at reducing the risk of gun-related accidents and incidents in local homes.

Police Chief John Fisher emphasizes the significance of this initiative, noting the success of previous events that collected 56 firearms. As part of a broader regional campaign to prevent gun violence, the event also offers free gun locks, while supplies last, in an effort to promote gun safety. For more details about the safe disposal process and community resources, residents can visit the Town of Bedford’s official website.
