The initiative is backed by the Byrne-State Crisis Initiative Program, which has funded 1,500 handgun safes for distribution to individuals with new pistol permits. Recipients will also receive educational pamphlets detailing safety recommendations and relevant firearms storage laws, making this initiative a proactive step towards fostering safer communities.
