A Peoria man, 28-year-old Drakar K. Munoz, is found guilty of armed robbery and shooting following a trial that lasted just two days. The jury reached its verdict in under ten minutes after reviewing video evidence showing Munoz pulling a gun on the victim and firing two shots during the crime on August 15, 2023.
The incident, which unfolded at approximately 3 a.m. in the 1700 block of N. Great Oak, resulted in the victim sustaining serious injuries. Shortly after the robbery, he was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Munoz’s accomplice, Jimmy Williams, previously pleaded guilty to his role in the robbery and received an eight-year sentence. Sentencing for Munoz is scheduled for July 23, 2025.
