Jeanerette police have identified several suspects following two connected shootings on June 4 that resulted in one man being hospitalized with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The incidents, which occurred just hours apart, have led to felony charges against the suspects, including attempted murder and terrorizing, with a 22-year-old man arrested after a police pursuit.
Investigators believe five suspects were involved in the first shooting on Canal Street, and law enforcement is actively searching for additional suspects, including a 16-year-old male juvenile. Police Chief Dusty Moore indicates that further arrests are expected and emphasizes that aiding the suspects could lead to arrest. Community members with information are encouraged to assist the ongoing investigation, underscoring the collaborative efforts between multiple law enforcement agencies in the region.
