Aurora police continue their search for the shooter or shooters involved in a drive-by nightclub shooting that occurred on August 11, 2024, leaving one man dead and another wounded. The victim, identified as 25-year-old Rafael Rivera-Velez, was found shot multiple times outside a club on East Colfax Avenue shortly after the incident was reported. Numerous witnesses indicated that the gunfire originated from a blue sedan that entered the parking lot, targeting a crowd gathered outside.
Authorities describe the incident as a random targeting of the crowd and have no specific descriptions of the suspect or the vehicle. Despite exhausting all leads so far, police remain hopeful that tips from the public could assist in the investigation. They urge anyone with information to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers, where tips may qualify for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
